As a little boy, I lived for the arrival of the Sears & Roebuck "Christmas Wish Book," the yearly catalog that signified the beginning of the frenzied countdown to the holiday season. The postman's annual delivery left my childhood eyes ablaze with anticipation of seeing what jolly old St. Nick would leave under the tree Dec. 25.
