OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Led by two struggling stars, the New York Mets broke out of their offensive funk. Mike Piazza ended the longest home run drought of his career, Carlos Beltran hit a three-run shot and New York avoided a three-game sweep with a 9-6 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday. Beltran's eighth homer, a long drive to right in the fifth that put the Mets ahead, was his first for New York in a game not started by Pedro Martinez. Piazza hadn't homered since May 9 at Wrigl ...
