Baseball America Friday, April 29, 2005 The Southland Conference consists of 10 schools nestled in Louisiana and Texas, outposts in between better-known programs from the Big 12 and Southeastern conferences. It has served as a proving ground for coaches who have ascended to top jobs at top programs.
