Special to ESPN.com Monday, April 18, 2005 Ron Zook spent a large chunk of a recent 16-hour workday sending text messages to recruits and their high school coaches. "Recruiting is forever," he explained. "You have to do it all the time." But that's only part of Zook's agenda at Illinois, which hired him in December to renovate a program that had fallen into disrepair. The Illini won just three games last season, and not one was a source of much school pride. Sure, Illinois rallied from a 19-0 deficit to beat Indiana. But there's still ...
