Last season, Missouri's junior quarterback was talked about as a certified Heisman Trophy candidate. His Tigers were the popular pick to win the Big 12 North. His legend as a play-making wizard, apparently, was set to only grow. Brad Smith met the hype. The hype won. It's a new spring in Columbia, and the memories of opportunity lost have diminished, though not totally dissipated.
