Spurrier's first Gamecock class impressive

It didn't take Steve Spurrier long to liven up the party in his new gig at South Carolina, something he did with the best of them when he ruled the Southeastern Conference at Florida. His first recruiting class at South Carolina produced one of the biggest signing day surprises. Jonathan Hannah, rated among the top five tight ends in the country, reneged on an earlier commitment to Virginia Tech and signed with the Gamecocks.
