By his own admission, Thomas Davis is a plain and simple guy. He grew up in tiny Shellman, Ga., in the southwest corner of the state, still uses such obsolete phrases in today's world as "yes, sir" and "thank you" and would just as soon have a ham sandwich as he would filet mignon.
