ESPN.com Wednesday, September 1, 2004 NEW YORK -- Fernando Gonzalez had a choice: Be well rested for the U.S. Open, or go for Olympic glory. It was an easy choice for him. He decided to represent Chile in the Olympics, and he got the glory too. However, he may have paid a price at the Open. Gonzalez, the 14th seed, was upset by Sweden's Robin Soderling 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-7 (4), 6-1 in the first round of the men's singles draw at the Open on Wednesday.
