Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson's work is finished. "What they need to do," Thompson said of the teams in his conference, "is they've got to win." There have been so many close calls for the five-year-old conference that is desperate to prove it belongs in the Bowl Championship Series. "Close doesn't really matter in the end," Thompson said.
