ESPN.com Wednesday, August 11, 2004 Maria Sharapova's failed attempt to make a cell phone call to her mother after winning Wimbledon last month might have been the impetus for her first post-title endorsement deal. Telecommunications company Motorola will announce a deal with the 17-year-old Russian beauty next week, multiple sources told ESPN.com. Financial terms of the deal are not known.
