Rob Machado rides waves with the foresight of a fortuneteller. He senses where they will break, when they will turn and he methodically adjusts his position. Although his movements appear fast and uncalculated, each slash of his board is as carefully placed as the stickers on his stick. Watching him prepare breakfast for his 2-year-old daughter Rose, you notice the same skill.
