This New York/Phil Thing -- what gives? I mean, I get it. But only a little. Swashbuckling player becomes popular as the anti-Tiger over the last few years. Sheepish grin is sharp contrast to scowling Tiger. Near-misses at majors give him a Heartbreak Kid sort of feel.
