St. John's grabs Brooklyn guard

St. John's gained Class 2004 guard Eugene Lawrence of Brooklyn-Lincoln, NY., over UMass and UNC-Greensboro. Lawrence, who paired with NBA-bound Sebastian Telfair at guard, averaged 14 points as a senior. Class 2004 forward Benny Songondo of Nigeria/Laurinburg Institute, NC., decommitted from the USC Trojans and is headed to Wyoming.
