Arizona Diamondbacks What the system has produced lately: Brandon Webb was one of the best pitchers, not just rookie pitchers, in 2003. His bowling-ball sinker enabled him to top the majors in opponent slugging percentage (.307) and the NL in ground/fly ratio (3.44). Catcher Robby Hammock and shortstop Alex Cintron earned starting jobs last season, while Matt Kata claimed the utility role.
