SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- David Wells felt good enough to go an extra inning. Making his second appearance of the spring, the 40-year-old left-hander gave up three runs and six hits Monday night in the San Diego Padres' 8-3 victory over the Texas Rangers. Coming off back surgery, Wells was scheduled to go five innings. But he went back out for the sixth and threw a total of 76 pitches.
