Saturday marks a date the Jayhawks have been pointing toward since quarterback Bill Whittemore went out with a shoulder injury at Kansas State on Oct. 25. Needing one win to become bowl eligible for the first time since 1995, KU has dropped three straight without Whittemore, to Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.
