Huskies hoping for bowl bid

The Huskies rested their case for a bowl bid with a 51-17 thumping of Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. Too bad the jury needs to be bought off. In only its second year in Division I-A, Connecticut won nine games. The Huskies' only losses were to Virginia Tech, Boston College and NC State. Coach Randy Edsall knows if his team matches the record next year -- after it joins the Big East Conference -- a bowl berth would be guaranteed.
