"Bend It Like Beckham," the story of two young British women who overcome a variety of obstacles to succeed at soccer, has been perhaps the most successful soccer film ever in the U.S. (It's grossed over $32.5 million in the States alone, not bad for a film with a budget of about $6 million.)
