Special to ESPN.com Wednesday, October 15, 2003 The New York Yankees can clinch the ALCS with a Game 6 win Wednesday over the Boston Red Sox, but I believe this Yankee team is still searching for its identity. These Yankees in no way remind me of the Yankee team that won four of five World Series from 1996-2000 -- the Yankees of Paul O'Neill, Scott Brosius and Tino Martinez. It's true that several mainstays of those successful teams remain: Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte. But the new breed of Yankees -- guys like ...
