Appleby finally hits jackpot in Vegas

Stuart Appleby has endured six runner-up finishes in the last 14 months, so that "here we go again" feeling had to be creeping into his mind after he made a bogey on the second-to-last hole Sunday to lose sole possession of the lead. After all, Appleby had finished tied for second in his last two events, and he did the same at last year's Las Vegas Invitational, missing a birdie putt on the 18th that would have forced a playoff with winner Phil Tataurangi.
