NHL Insider Tuesday, July 22, 2003 Once one of the deepest teams at center, the Detroit Red Wings are suddenly left with just Steve Yzerman and checker Kris Draper after Sergei Fedorov left for Anaheim to sign a five-year, $40 million contract last week. Of course, Detroit will once again be Western Conference contenders because of the addition of Derian Hatcher on defense and the return of Dominik Hasek in goal.
