Tuesday, July 15, 2003 The Los Angeles Dodgers are certainly in playoff contention, but currently are last in the National League, second to last in the majors, in batting average (.244) and runs scored (328). With the signing of 44-year old OF Rickey Henderson and acquisition of OF Jeromy Burnitz from the New York Mets for minor league prospects, it is unlikely that Los Angeles will see a significant upgrade in team batting average, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to plate a few more runs.
