Sunday, June 29, 2003 SAN FRANCISCO -- Right-hander David Aardsma, Rice's closer during its run to the College World Series title, signed with the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Aardsma, the Giants' first-round draft pick earlier in the month, retired 15 of the 16 batters he faced in the College World Series, going 2-0 with a save. He was the winning pitcher in the Owls' victory over Stanford in the first game of the championship round. After a week of celebrations that included a parade in Houston, Aardsma hopes ...
