It can happen to any of us. At any time. It's called "The Upgrade." And it happened recently to Rick Carlisle. In its simplest definition, "The Upgrade" occurs when somebody gets unceremoniously dumped for somebody else who is deemed a better catch. In Carlisle's case, it happened when Joe Dumars decided Larry Brown was a better catch to coach the Pistons. So what did Carlisle do to warrant being victimized by "The Upgrade?"
