Fantasy Rookie Prospects: Running Backs

At least one rookie running back has surpassed 1,000 yards in each of the last five drafts (Clinton Portis, LaDainian Tomlinson, Jamal Lewis, Edgerrin James, Fred Taylor). However, barring injuries to starters, no rookie will likely emerge and rush for at least 1,000 yards in 2003. When judging the draft's top 13 running backs by their skills, potential and opportunity (scaled from 1-5), first-year runners show little hope for fantasy owners in 2003.
