Friday, March 21, 2003 New York Yankees: Designated hitter Nick Johnson will be sidelined until next week because of a sprained left thumb. Johnson was hurt when jammed by a pitch in Wednesday's game against Cleveland. He underwent an MRI on Thursday and won't swing a bat until at least Sunday.
