Yanks' Johnson will be out until next week

New York Yankees: Designated hitter Nick Johnson will be sidelined until next week because of a sprained left thumb. Johnson was hurt when jammed by a pitch in Wednesday's game against Cleveland. He underwent an MRI on Thursday and won't swing a bat until at least Sunday. His status for the March 31 opener has not been determined. "We'll have to see,'' Yankees manager Joe Torre said Friday.
