Hornets confident they can do well in NCAAs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama State is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, and the Hornets don't expect a short trip. ''We don't plan to just go participate,'' coach Freda Freeman-Jackson said after her team's 80-67 victory over Grambling State in the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship Saturday.
