Special to ESPN.com Sunday, January 19, 2003 Brett Hull came into the league with a kid's good-times lifestyle, plus a last name and legacy that seemed to lend credence to the suspicions that he might have a hard time growing up. Curiously, even Hull's path to the NHL seemed to involve a contradiction: The son of the Golden Jet -- Hall of Famer Bobby Hull -- not only didn't get extra credit for his lineage and the "gene pool" benefit of doubt from scouts, he had to win over the doubters to even get a belated chance in the British Columbia ...
