Twenty years ago in Maui, the Chaminade Silverswords felled the tallest tree in college basketball, 7-4 Ralph Sampson and the top-ranked Virginia Cavaliers. Now "Chaminade," then a little-known NAIA school with only 800 students, is shorthand for "great hoops upset." But that game is hardly the only early-season surprise of the past 20 years.
