ST. LOUIS -- San Antonio center Tim Duncan and coach Gregg Popovich were selected player and coach of the year by the Sporting News on Tuesday. Houston's Yao Ming was picked rookie of the year. Duncan and Popovich led the Spurs to a 60-22 record, tied with the Dallas Mavericks for best in the NBA.
