Wednesday, October 2, 2002 MOSCOW -- Anna Kournikova retired from her doubles match at the Kremlin Cup on Wednesday after spraining her left ankle. Kournikova was sidelined most of last season because of a stress fracture in the same ankle. Kournikova and American Meghann Shaughnessy were tied with Jelena Dokic and Nadia Petrova after two sets when Kournikova injured her ankle and retired.
