Thursday, August 29, 2002 CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Guard Marcus Barnes, who helped lead the Miami Hurricanes to the NCAA tournament last year, was kicked off the team Thursday for an unspecified violation of team rules. The Miami Herald reported that Barnes' dismissal from Miami had to do with a domestic abuse charge as Barnes was being kicked out of an apartment by his girlfriend on Aug. 19. Barnes' departure now forces the Hurricanes to replace their leading 3-point shooter and their entire backcourt from last seas ... Activate your ESPN Profile!
