SportsTicker Friday, August 9, 2002 Kip Bouknight spun his first career no-hitter to lead the Salem Avalanche past the Frederick Keys, 5-0, on August 7. The 23-year-old threw 106 pitches, hit a pair of batters, issued three walks and struck out eight, raising his record to 12-7 with a 3.49 ERA in 23 starts. A University of South Carolina product, who was presented with the Smith Award as the nation's top collegiate baseball player in 2000, Bouknight retired eight straight batters between the third and sixth frames and induced 12 ...
