Injured foot causes Marcus to withdraw

The need for surgery on his left foot forced Western Kentucky Chris Marcus to withdraw from the NBA draft and return for his fourth season of eligibility, fifth in school. "I've decided to pull my name out of the 2002 NBA draft because of my foot,'' Marcus said at a news conference Friday. "I am physically unable to perform up to my capabilities right now.''
