For my season-ending "Movie Quotes/NBA Awards" column, we needed a movie that typified the 2001-2002 campaign: A high-stakes poker match filled with power struggles, wild gambles, rampant egos, twists and turns, idiotic maneuvers, women interfering, underdogs coming out of nowhere, ridiculous amounts of money being thrown around ... and that's only what was happening on the team charters.
