Page 2 columnist Monday, April 1, 2002 Remember that unbearable "Saturday Night Live" season from the mid-1990s, when Janeane Garofalo and Chris Elliott were on the cast and the wheels came flying off? Cast members openly jumped ship during the season. Some sketches were so excruciating that you actually felt sorry for the audience whenever the "APPLAUSE" sign came on.
