I love this game -- even if you don't

First, an apology. Way back in December, I vowed to start writing a weekly NBA column, a noble idea that was sidetracked by a variety of developments over the past few weeks: A couple of road trips, the holidays, my utter inability to write objectively about the NBA with the Celtics in first place, my lawsuit against DirecTV (after they mistakenly gave me the WNBA package last summer), and most importantly, the fact nobody wrote in to ask, "Hey, what happened to the weekly NBA column?"
