What Kind of Team Will the Warriors be This Year?

Matt Steinmetz, sideline TV reporter for Comcast and blogger at the Examiner, is worried about the team's identity. Rather than saying what the Warriors are, it's easier to say what they are not. He writes:

  • They're certainly not a halfcourt team because they lack a low-post threat and they don't execute well enough to play that style. They don't have that kind of personnel, either.
  • They're not a defensive team, that's for sure. Let's be honest. The Warriors are the opposite of a defensive team.
  • They're not a team that relies on a star. Baron Davis, of course, was the closest thing the Warriors had to a difference-maker, and now he's gone.
  • They're not a good shooting team. It's not news that the Warriors took more 3-pointers than every other team in the league last year. It might be news, though, to find out that 22 teams shot it better from out there.
