Tonight the Dallas Mavericks will host the Los Angeles Lakers. Lots at stake in yet another playoff-type game in the West.
And I'll be there! I'm on a plane set to take off for Dallas as I write.
Certainly, the game is a big draw. But let's be honest: I wouldn't be flying to Dallas if Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban hadn't recently made the bizarre decision to ban bloggers from the locker room.
As a blogger dedicated to using blog software in the practice of journalism, and who counts on access to all the people who make the game hum, I don't like the idea of being banned from anywhere because of the software I use. I'll be joining Andrew Kamenetzky of the L.A. Times and Tim McMahon of the Dallas Morning News in trying to cover this game with blog software.
We'll see what kind of access we get.
More to come from Dallas.
