Amazing Kyle Korver statistics from Jody Genessy of the Deseret Morning News: "... in his first 10 home games as a member of the Jazz, the shooting guard only hit 41.1 percent of his field goals and 22.9 percent of his 3-pointers - and that happened despite his getting cheered on as the new fan favorite in Utah. During that same stretch on the road, Korver blistered the nets by hitting 62.2 percent overall and 51.9 percent from 3-point land."
Lorenzen Wright engineered a prank on some Hawk rookies -- the old car full of popcorn -- and tells the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Sekou Smith about rookie hazing: "'Jermaine O'Neal and I came into the league together,' Wright said. 'JO told me that when he was in Portland that Gary Trent, Rasheed Wallace and all them jumped him, took all his clothes, locked him out of his room and then trashed his whole room. And I'm talking about flushing sheets down the toilets, soaked all his clothes and everything.'"
Dave D'Alessandro of the Newark Star-Ledger on Vince Carter: "Weird exchange here today. Al: 'Did you ever get a cortisone shot in the ankle?' VC: 'We talked about it. Not my thing. I just put the time in, we'll see what happens. Right now, it's doing well, hopefully I can stay away from it. I don't even take Advil.' A few minutes later, Nets confirmed he had a cortisone shot on or around Jan. 28th. Must have something to do with VC's hatred of Big Pharma, we figure."
Dwyane Wade, as interviewed by Yahoo's J.E. Skeets: "My shoulder's been fine, but my knee is ... instead of 100% it's been about 70% all year. But I knew coming into this season that it was going to be a year before my knee feels the way I want it to feel. Some days it feels good, some days it doesn't. You have to play these games through the pain for your teammates and for your organization and do what you love to do. Next year I'll be healthy. But this year is a different year."
