You may have noticed an earlier mention of the new Jordan shoes coming out, and people lining up around the clock to buy them.

TrueHoop reader Andy recounts an exchance he witnessed in one such line in New York:

A guy walked past the Foot Action by the Garden and asks, "What are you guys doing here?"

One of the sneakerheads answers: "Waiting for the new Air Jordans." And shows him a pair of the shoes.

Guy says: "I don't get it."

Sneakerhead, with disdain in his voice: "We know. That's why you're over there."

Andy also said that, talking to people in the line, he found that many of them knew each other from waiting in similar lines in years past.
