The Warriors are Blog Crazy

October 5, 2007 3:50 PM

The team's blog effort from training camp on the official website -- multiple written and video updates per day -- is to be commended.

It's working. I just spent an hour wading through a small fraction of what they have to offer, and now even I'm getting kind of excited to learn that Patrick O'Bryant is in good shape. It's cool that Stephen Jackson gives everyone -- not just the players, but everyone on the bus -- a pound when he gets on the bus. And I'm thrilled that the team's equipment manager, Eric Housen, will be surfing the big waves on the North Shore. (And did you know he spent part of the off-season in Indonesia?)

On top of all that, Baron Davis has a blog on Yardbarker (ditto, kind of, Brandan Wright) while USA Today's Greg Boeck has had all access to the team.

If you want to feel close to the Warriors, trust me, it is possible for you to feel close to the Warriors.

When I was a kid, I made it my mission to read, essentially, everything that was written about my team, the Blazers. Every newspaper article. Every time they were in a magazine. I saved up to buy the team's media guide. And I was there for a good chunk of anything on radio or TV, as well as some games in person. I even read the occasional book that mentioned the Blazers. If it was public knowledge, it was my knowledge, you know?

But now? I don't care which team you follow. You can't possibly follow it all.
