The minority owner of the Sonics famously stepped into controversy.
But don't think that a little public outcry is going to make him wilt.
It's not like he's scared to take on controversial issues. According to a wikipedia entry on him, McClendon has been a major contributor to these three "third rail" political issues:
- Swift Boat POW's for Truth
- Americans United to Preserve Marriage
- The Duke University Lacrosse Team

He says one of his favorite things to do is to take a long jet ski trip downriver. If the naysayers are right, that could be a decent metaphor for what the Sonic ownership group could be going through over the next couple of years.
