• Mike Bibby wants to be a Cavalier. Mike Bibby is not familiar with the NBA salary cap guidelines. Mike Bibby has probably never visited Larry Coon's website. Mike Bibby's goatee, however, is coming in quite nicely. (Thanks to the Basketball Jones)

• Matt from Blogabull.com is still devising ways to turn Chicago's tradeable assets (Chris Duhon, Viktor Khryapa) into something special. Signing Mike Sweetney to a qualifying offer has a lot to do with it. Any Sweetney talk just depresses me, that guy has so much game, and so many donuts. Lots and lots of donuts. He really was a fantastic player until about December of 2005, and it's a shame his career has turned out this way.  UPDATE: the Bulls better hurry up and sign Sweetney before he reads this.

• I watched the end of Purple Rain last night. Yeah, I'm cool with that. I also remember hanging out with my brother back in 2004, watching the Chapelle's Show skit about Prince playing basketball, seeing my brother laugh at the premise of Prince playing basketball, and telling him (before Chapelle, as Prince, started tearing it up) that Prince was actually pretty awesome at basketball. Problem is, I don't remember where I heard that, initially. Part of me wants to think it came from some random Kevin Garnett/Jimmy Jam Q and A; was that in a SLAM? 1997 or so? The one where KG rips on Mike Finley's cartwheel attempt in the 1997 Dunk Contest? Anyway, imagine my glee as I happened upon Hype's site this morning, only to find a quotation from an MTV interview with His Royal Awesomeness regarding his basketball skills. Today's a good day.
