It has been the easiest possible critique of LeBron James: an inconsistent jumper. Many games he puts it on the shelf for long streches, apparently fearful even to touch it. (Other times, of course, his shot is falling and he lights up arenas like Christmas trees.)
Through it all, his release has not been consistent. It's clear that he has been trying different things. Which makes every shooting coach in America think: just give me one week with that kid, and I'll make him a champion.
I was worried this off-season, with his baby, his commercials to shoot, and his Team USA obligations, would be too busy to establish a permanently improved stroke. But maybe he has found the time. Jay Aych of the Painted Area is seeing some signs in his Team USA play:
Looks like Bron has been working on his jumper the last two months -- another impressive outside shooting display by Bron. Bron was 3/5 from deep, and 8/10 overall for 21 pts, four assists and four rebounds.
I'd be very interested to know if he has been working with a shooting coach.
