Thanks for all of your responses concerning the best games and best plays in the SEC this season. Keep them coming in the mailbag.
There's already been some really good stuff to come in, and my plan is to put it all together and roll it out on Monday. With your help, I'll rank the best games and best plays. We should have enough to do the top 10 games and at least the top 15 plays, maybe more.
I'll be away from the blog most of this weekend, but we'll crank it back up again Monday.
One update I wanted to give you involves former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron, who's currently the defensive line coach with the New Orleans Saints. Orgeron has been new Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin's top target as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator since the day Kiffin was hired, and that's still the plan.
But Orgeron met with the Saints' higher-ups earlier this week, and the Saints are doing their best to keep him. The Vols are prepared to offer him a pretty sweet salary, so we'll see how it all turns out.
Speaking of Ole Miss, I'll have a Q&A with Jevan Snead next Tuesday, so look for that. The Rebels' sophomore quarterback, fresh off a splendid debut season in the SEC, is pumped about going back to Texas and playing in the Cotton Bowl.
I also hope to catch up with Alabama All-American center Antoine Caldwell next week. Caldwell's been tearing it up off the field as well. He just recently completed his second degree at Alabama.
Several of you have asked about picks for bowl games. I'll make my first picks for the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl and Chick-fil-A Bowl on Christmas Eve. My picks for the rest of the bowl games involving SEC teams will come out on New Year's Eve.
That's all for now. Gotta get the rest of my Christmas shopping done these next two days. Take care. Avoid the mass panic that engulfs shopping malls this last weekend before Christmas and be safe.
See you Monday.
