There were several impressive performances to choose from, but we've huddled here at the SEC headquarters of ESPN.com and come up with our award winners for Week 2:

OFFENSE

Knowshon Moreno, TB, Georgia: Not only did he have one of those hurdle-the-defender runs that's more impressive every time you watch it, but he finished with 168 yards rushing on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns for the second straight week. Moreno is so explosive that he makes everybody around him that much better.

DEFENSE

Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama: Who's the best middle (or inside) linebacker in the league? Florida's Brandon Spikes, LSU's Darry Beckwith, South Carolina's Jasper Brinkley and Georgia's Dannell Ellerbe would all get votes. But I'd take the 6-4, 250-pound McClain, who had a career-high 15 tackles, including two for loss, and a pass deflection in the win over Tulane.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Javier Arenas, PR, Alabama: It's a good thing the Crimson Tide showed up to play on defense and special teams against Tulane. Arenas was spectacular with a school-record 147 yards in punt returns. One of his five returns went for an 87-yard touchdown, the Tide's first of the game. He now has four punt returns for touchdowns during his career, tying him with David Pamer.

COACH

Bobby Johnson, Vanderbilt: You can't help but be impressed with how disciplined the Commodores are and how well-prepared they are. They lost all five starters on the offensive line a year ago, yet took over the game in the fourth quarter up front in the win over South Carolina. Special teams are solid, and the Commodores stayed aggressive on defense after taking the 14-point lead. Johnson has this team believing.
