Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson on ...

After giving up 55 sacks last year, how do you feel about your offensive line?

"We lost a great center in Mike Pollak. We're going to be real young. We'll be a little more athletic ... I think getting rid of the football in the quick passing game is going to help."

On QB Rudy Carpenter:

"He spends a lot of time in my office studying the game. He loves the game. That's what separates him."

On Georgia coming to Tempe:

"If we want to get national prominence we've got to play games like that. I'd like to play a game like that once a year -- all at home. To me, it puts you on a national stage against a great conference. Obviously, they are one of the better teams in the conference. It's a huge game in Tempe. However, we play Stanford the second game of the year. A league game at home. To me, that's the one that looms."
