Links to make the world go round...

• Michael Rothstein of the Fort Wayne is single-handedly keeping Notre Dame from having a peaceful offseason. This morning he wrote a story about Notre Dame still paying former coach Tyrone Willingham, three years after his firing. And this afternoon, the story was revised to state that Notre Dame pays Willingham and basketball coach Mike Brey more in base pay than head football coach Charlie Weis. Both are excellent reads.

• Brian Murphy of the Idaho Statesman writes that the hype surrounding the Sept. 3 game between Boise State and Oregon has already started.

• Houston defensive coordinator John Skladany is already prepping for the Conference USA season.

• Air Force Academy coach Troy Calhoun will spend the next 10 days visiting U.S. troops serving overseas.

• And on a national note, the American Football Coaches Association has decided to not disclose the final regular-season ballot beginning in 2010.
