Although the bulk of the spring games are tomorrow, a couple schools are being trendsetters and holding their spring games tonight.

• Boise State holds its scrimmage tonight and while the teams are a little unbalanced, coach Chris Petersen reserves the right to give any star player a phantom injury and pull them off the field. If, say, that injury occurs to quarterback Kellen Moore, walk-on Drew Hawkins will step in as his spring game backup.

• UNLV also will hold its spring game tonight and unlike most spring games that draft teams, Mike Sanford has decided to pit his starters against his backups.

• With Notre Dame's spring game on Saturday, multiple stories, blogs, and columns are popping up about the Irish. Like Greg Couch's criticism of Irish head coach Charlie Weis, or Wes Morgan's column about the Irish needing a little more sizzle this season or a student life story about early Notre Dame enrollees adjusting to college life.

• Buffalo expects a lot out of new quarterback Zach Maynard and he'll get the bulk of the snaps during the spring game on Saturday.

Boise State Broncos, Nevada-Las Veags Rebels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Buffalo Bulls
